A perennial herb that has slender green hollow leaves and a mild onion flavour. It produces purple flower heads which can be used as a garnish and in salads. For the best flavour, add chives towards the end of cooking. Great in omelettes. Snip with a scissors and sprinkle on salads, new potatoes and soups.
It is extremely easy to grow.
Position in full sun and in fertile, moist, well drained soil.
