A dense, bushy, evergreen shrub or small tree. It has a glossy, dark-green, slender leaves and the red stems are attractive against the green foliage. Small, white scented flowers appear in early summer and are followed by small dark red-purple fruit. It makes a compact, formal, and attractive hedge. Position in full sun or partial shade and in moist, well-drained soil. Height/Spread: 12mx8m after 20-50 years in left un-pruned. Suitable for a hedge height of 1m to 5m. Aspect: North, South, East, West
