ABIES Fraseri is a medium-size, evergreen conifer, commonly used as a Christmas tree for its dense, conical shape and its fragrant needles. It produces cylindrical cones in Summer, borne purple before turning brown.

Height/Spread: ABIES Fraseri typically reaches a height of 15 meters and a width of 6 meters, making it a preferred choice for medium to large-sized gardens. 

Position: The Fraser fir requires very good light conditions with a position in full sun.

Soil: The Fraser fir prefers well-draining soil that is neutral or acidic. It is essential to ensure the soil is adequately prepared and amended with ericaceoous soil or compost to achieve the preferred pH  for the plant.

Flowering Season: ABIES Fraseri produces cylindrial cones, 7cm in lenth, in Summer. These are borne purple and very attractive when young. They turn brown as they mature and may be used for decorations and flower arrangements at Christmas.

Uses: The Frasier fir is an architectural tree suitable for medium to large-sized gardens. This popular Christmas tree is dense and fragrant and retains its needles very well, making it a perfect choice as a cut tree. In the ground, use it a focal ppoint or a stand alone feature where its narrow, conical shape can be admired.
