The Corkscrew hazel is a large deciduous shrub or small tree. The highly contorted and twisted stems make it a very attractive specimen in the garden, especially in the winter and spring when the foliage has fallen and the catkins appear.

Height and Spread: 4 x 4m

Position: Full sun to partial shade

Soil: Moist but well-drained, Alkaline to neutral

Flowering season: Late winter, Spring (catkins)

Uses: Architectural, Low maintenance, hedging, Cut flowers (twigs), Wildlife
