Also called 'Coral-bark maple', the japanese maple Sango-kaku is a large deciduous shrub, remaining attractive all year round. Leaves open pinkish-yellow in Spring, turning green in Summer and finally yellow in the Autumn before they fall. The young branches are coral-red, making this small tree interesting in Winter as well.

Position: Full sun to partial shade, sheltered.
Soil: Moist but well-drained, acid to neutral
